How It Avoids Making Things Up
Verified-only fact base
The companion answers from a hand-checked corpus of First Light facts written into the model's instructions, with an explicit rule to hedge rather than guess on anything outside it. The same discipline runs through the static guide: a mission whose setting was never confirmed by two reputable sources ships with no setting at all rather than a plausible-sounding one.
The spoiler gate covers the suggestions too
The spoiler choice you make during onboarding is rewritten into the model's instructions on every single request, and the same rule is bound to the follow-up questions it generates — so a one-tap suggestion chip can't hand you a twist you asked not to see. Protecting is the default; you opt in to spoilers, not out.
This week's headlines in context
Before your first question, the app fetches the ten newest curated First Light headlines and appends them to the model's instructions, so answers can account for news published after the model's own training data ends.
Trimmed history, kept profile
A long conversation sends only the last 16 turns, and everything older than the last four is compressed to a 500-character gist. What you told it about yourself — your name, your platform — is stored separately and re-injected into every request, so trimming the transcript never costs the companion its memory of you.
