How the Book Stays True
Chapter-by-chapter faithfulness gate
The model that writes a chapter is not allowed to approve it: a second, separate auditor model re-reads the draft against the raw answers and lists every statement those answers don't support. One unsupported claim fails the chapter — it's rewritten, and if it fails again the server refuses to return prose at all and the book prints the person's own words instead.
Transcription happens on the phone
Spoken answers are turned into text by iOS on the device, with on-device recognition explicitly required rather than left to the system's discretion, and the audio files stay in the app's own folder. If AI writing is switched on, the typed transcript is the only thing that goes out — and that switch starts off.
The book renders offline
With no network and no AI, the app still assembles each chapter from the recorded answers verbatim and lays out the 6×9 PDF on the device — the pages are rendered twice so the contents page can carry each chapter's real page number.
Follow-ups from the last answer
The next question is written from what they just said rather than read off a fixed list, and the interviewer is instructed to skip rather than ask a weak or already-asked one. The request is raced against a 12-second deadline, so a stalled connection returns them to the chapter instead of stranding them on a spinner.
